ATTENTION ALL CRAB LOVERS, I learned of this place about a decade ago. It takes me a hour to reach it. If you are looking for a delicious crab feast with a restaurant that has a "Cheers" kind of feel, this is the place to go. I have don't think I ever formally met Norm, the owner (I believe), but I see him running around. It feels like when you step through the doors you are on an island crab-eating vacation! The garlic sauce is fabulous and the crabs are delicious. I try to call before I come because they don't always have all you can eat. Service is also great!

We have been coming here for well over 10 years and have always enjoyed the food we were there so much we had gotten to know the owner, his son and even the dog his son used to have, although some time had passed since we had been there recently this is still the best place to get crabs or any kind of food hands down.

We've lived in Burlington for 25 years, and started purchasing take-out from Blue Claw before the restaurant opened. For us, Blue Claw is a special treat. Fried bliss: half pound each of shrimp and scallops, plus baskets of hush puppies and fried mushrooms. I don't know what the secret is to their breading and frying, but everything always tastes wonderful, light and never greasy. We've also tried the crabs, crab cakes, seafood pastas... it's all delicious. Check out Norm's wedding photo from 1964. What an adorable couple. Some day we'll actually eat in the restaurant. Maybe during year 26!
