Restaurant Description

Stella Marina, which means "star of the sea" in Italian, is located in historic Asbury Park. Opening in Asbury Park, widely known for its rich musical history, gives Stella Marina an unprecedented opportunity to be a part of the rebirth of one of the nation's most historic beach-front communities.

Stella Marina Restaurant is located at the south end of the boardwalk neighboring the carousel originally erected in 1888, has two floors of breath taking Atlantic Ocean and Wesley Lake views. Stella Marina is a second joint venture for brothers Michael and Joseph Cetrulo, and Kenneth Mansfield all from the popular and highly rated Sirena Ristorante, Long Branch. Dennis Tafuri, most recently from Cask 591, joins us as our fourth partner at Stella Marina. Each of the four owners have very interesting and diverse backgrounds. Michael and Joe own 9 restaurants between the two. Eight are accredited in the very prestigious 2008 Zagat "America's 1,000 Top Italian Restaurants" with the likelihood of Stella Marina as an addition in 2009. Hailed as "The best Italian food in the state" by The New York Times, Michael's Scalini Fedeli has gained a reputation as the gold standard in fine Italian dining. Joe Cetrulo is the chef and owner of La Campagna located in Morristown with a sister location in Millburn, has been awarded the Zagat Survey Award of Distinction. Ken, accomplished is his own right, has worked in the gourmet room in Atlantic City, the Michelin-starred Halekulani in Ohau, Hawaii and trained under Michael Cetrulo at Scalini Fedeli in Chatham before opening the Tribeca location as Chef-du-Cuisine. Dennis, a certified sommelier, comes to us from the reputable Cask 591 where he owned and operated this fine American restaurant.
