Chef Bio

Chris Brandl was born in 1971 and raised in Farmingdale NJ. Growing up Chris would always be in the kitchen helping his mother with the baking. By age 12 he got his first job as a dishwasher at the Farmingdale House, He knew then that he wanted to become a chef and open his own restaurant. Chris graduated culinary school, Johnson & Wales in 1991. After graduatio he took a job at Redington's fine Seafood Restaurant in Point Pleasant, he worked there for 10 years, learning the ropes not only in cooking seafood, but also learning how to operate the back of the house. In 2000 Chris left Redington's and went fishing on a commercial fishing boat for 7 months. In June 2001 Chris opened Mahogany Grille in Manasquan. Chris left there in May 2002 and went to Belmar and opened Brandl. December 2002. Brandl has become the Dining Destination at the Jersey Shore
